My dear Transforming Rotarians,

 

           To culminate our District’s accomplishment for the RY 2020-2021, we held our last two district events, the District Conference via AirMeet on June 18 and 19, 2021, and the Awards and Recognition Night via AirMeet on the night of June 19, 2021.

 

           With the innovative planning and execution of the host club, my home club, the Rotary Club of Cabanatuan North, we were able to tap the five (5) senses of the attendees despite conducting it virtually. Sense of touch when you unboxed the DisCon Kit in the safety of your home, sense of taste and smell when you prepared and ate the pasta and drank the Johnny Walker or Wine included in your kit, and sense of sight and hearing during our live broadcast.

 

           The platform includes exclusive features that all of us got to enjoy. Like in any physical event, we had tables, booths/exhibits, backstage passes, and many more. The Lounge or Virtual tables allowed us to table hop or find and sit with our club members. Speed networking enabled us to meet and greet new faces and build a connection. The booths/exhibits allowed our event sponsor and suppliers to showcase their products and services. The backstage-pass enabled our attendees to join our guests and artists on stage. It was indeed a new virtual experience for all of us.

 

           We are honored to have the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines, Hon. Leni Robredo, RI President Holger Knaack, PRID Guiller Tumangan, PDG Jun Farcon, Hon. Antonio Carpio, Mr. Injap Sia, and Mr. James Deakin as Guest Speakers during our District Conference.

 

           We also took the time to appreciate all the efforts, donations, and service projects each club and member gave for the community during our Awards and Recognition Night. I know it is already hard to face the pandemic and calamities, yet you rose above the storm and learned how to dance in the rain with me.

 

           And as I end my term, I would like to reiterate that I could not achieve our District's success without the partnership and support from the following:

            our District Officers,

            our Transforming Presidents and Officers,

            our sister district - District 3461 Taiwan,

            and all the Rotarians of District 3770.

 

           You are indeed the secret ingredient in our District’s success. We opened doors because you faithfully hold the key. You, Transforming Rotarians, are the face of service above self.
