GOVERNOR'S MONTHLY LETTER
MARCH
My Dear Transforming Rotarians,

Even if we are in the midst of our battle with the pandemic, I would like to announce that our district, RI District 3770 Philippines, was able to gain a partnership with RI District 3461, Taiwan through Rotary Inter-Country Committee.

The Rotary Inter-Country Committee creates a partnership with clubs and districts from different cultures. And thru the ICC’s structures, we can expand Rotary’s service and projects, as well as, build a stronger connection between two countries, districts, and/or clubs.

Our partnership with RI D3461 Taiwan began last June 2020. Thru a Global Grant funded by The Rotary Foundation and both parties, we were able to distribute 3,000 PPEs to our Health Care Workers and Frontliners.

Recently, RC Malolos D3770 and RC Taichung Dawn D3462 solidified their sisterhood. Last March 24, 2021, both clubs met virtually and conducted a "meet and greet" wherein club officers and members of both clubs had a chance to introduce themselves to each other. As a result, the sisterhood of RC Malolos and RC Taichung Dawn took a step forward in strengthening relationships.

For this feat, I would like to acknowledge the efforts of Rtn. Winnie Cheng from the Rotary Club of Malolos. She is a former member of the Rotary Club of New Taipei New Life. But since the pandemic broke, she has not been able to go back to Taipei so she decided to transfer her membership to our District. I have appointed her as our District Ambassador to Taiwan. She also serves as the Deputy National Coordinator for ICC Philippines-Taiwan.

I am looking forward to more community service and projects being accomplished by our agreement with them and hoping for your continuous support to make this partnership work.

Also, I would like to remind everyone to be extra careful since we have an alarming rise of Covid19 Cases in our country. As much as possible stay at home and conduct gatherings or meetings online.
